Claire Ford - Comedy Biography

Claire Ford is an actress and character comedian. She trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and since graduating has enjoyed a wide variety of work, everything from straight theatre to presenting and photographic modelling to commercials.

It's comedic and character roles though in which she really excels. Having appeared in a range of scripted comedy roles, she's also created a vast array of alter egos including; anthropology student and poet: Natasha, B&B manager and Carer: Ange, Life Coach: Verity and Holistic Therapist & Psychic, Brightness.

Also an accomplished film-maker, several of her characters have made appearances online, most notably comedy creation 'Terri Skyler' (wannabe celebrity) whose web series 'Terri's Treats', recently caught the attention BBC producers who caster her in their internet-themed TV comedy pilot, 'Fat Pipes'.

In 2010 she was commissioned to present a self-shot behind the scenes documentary 'The Awards Diaries' for the Edinburgh Comedy Award.

As comfortable live as on film, Claire has a real flair for improvisation and audience interaction.

Claire's first solo character comedy show 'ConsciousMess' premiered at Adelaide Fringe 2014 and enjoyed a full run in Edinburgh the same year, to critical acclaim: "Hilarious…a lovely show" - One 4 Review, "Claire Ford is simply outstanding I cannot recommend this enough; see her now before she, or at least one of her characters, climbs into your TV! In addition to her solo work, she is also one half of comedy double-act Wilkinson Ford and their silent comedy alter-egos The Kagools.
